Dreaming of a White Christmas...

This is a bit of a different post then normal but I thought it would be a good place to make our announcement...

Sean and I have done 4 months in Australia now and have had the most incredible time. We have seen and done so much and I think we have both learnt a lot about ourselves and each other. With Christmas just around the corner we started thinking just how tempting Christmas at home sounded. We found ourselves with a dilemma do we stay in Australia or go home. Neither of us can really afford to stay in Australia and we've both seen everything we really want to. Plus getting to meet my beautiful niece when she is under two weeks old is something I will treasure forever. Therefore, we have decided to come home for Christmas. We are aware that some people will think we are making a mistake,  others will presume something has happened between us - if anything we are closer then ever! The truth is the idea of a big family Christmas is just too tempting to deny...

Feeding Sea Turtles

A few days ago we found ourselves at a bit of a loose end, the place we were staying wasn't exactly the liveliest of places so when we saw an aquarium we wondered in with the hope of entertaining ourselves for a little while. However, we actually found ourselves feeding...Sea Turtles...and what do Sea Turtles eat? Well lettuce, of course! We were given lettuce to feed them to stop the sharks at the bottom of the tank popping up to say hello, later on in the day the turtles are also given fish but to keep all the visitors fingers in place for now the turtles had to do with your standard iceberg lettuce, not that they seemed to mind...

The most beautiful place on Earth?!

Last week we spent the night in the most beautiful place, ever! Apparently it is the only place in the world where two world heritage sites meet - the Rainforest and the Barrier Reef! Cape Tribulation, is stunning! When we were there we were virtually the only ones on the beach and we spent the afternoon sunbathing, swimming and drinking ice cold beers. Not a bad way to spend a Monday afternoon. We also came across the most superb campsite, imaginatively called, Camp Trib camping. I dislike camping with the shared toilets, the grimy showers and the lack of any privacy. While this campsite still had the grimy showers, it was also right off the beach, it had private camping spots and a adorable wooden bar that sold cold beer and home-made woodfire pizzas! We spend hours sitting under the bar that was surrounded in fairy lights with the camp fire in the distance. I could go on for hours explaining the perfectness of Cape Tribulation but instead I'm just going to show you the pictures so you can see for yourselves...
